An extracellular matrix-based sticky sealant designed to reconstruct corneal tissue has been created by a team at the Pohang University of Science and Technology, in Gyeongbuk. Korea. When exposed to 3 minutes of irradiated light, the adhesive integrates with adjacent corneal tissues, repairing damage.  
            Specifically, the extracellular matrix (GelCodE) contains biomolecules responsible for tissue composition and development, which protect and support cell-assisted restoration by filling the wound area, according to a press release. GelCodE has been used with success in animal models, thus far.
